Our Tutoring Philosophy

We believe that one-on-one tutoring is the ideal way to prepare for a standardized test. All students, even those with identical scores, have different strengths and weaknesses, and individual tutoring affords us the best opportunity to teach strategy and technique for the overall test while also addressing any small content gaps we may find along the way.

We also believe that the type and amount of tutoring that each student needs is different. Some students' scores are evenly distributed, and that student will need help in each area of a particular test; another may find that one area of the test lags significantly behind in an otherwise exceptional testing profile, and that student will need concentrated help in the weak area and a brief review of the other areas so that he feels fully prepared for the test.

Another option for test prep is small group preparation. This type of preparation can be helpful if the students are have similar needs and are all motivated to succeed in a group setting. Because each group has its own particular needs, we prefer to assess each group on a case-by-case basis.

Above all, we try to be respectful of the resources of time and money that the student and his family are dedicating to tutoring, and of the trust placed in us when a family chooses us for their tutoring needs.

Please contact us via phone or email to discuss your objectives and individual needs.
