ACT / SAT / PSAT Tutoring

Tutoring offers the perfect mix of test preparation strategy and content, individually tailored to each’s students strengths and weaknesses. In a friendly, yet structured, one-on-one setting, you will develop the skills you need to reach your highest possible score.

Prime high school tutoring appointments go quickly, so if you are interested in test preparation with Dr. Kleitz or one of our associate tutors, please call as soon possible. If you know you are interested in test preparation but need assistance with your schedule, please call and chat with a member of our office staff. We will always do our best to match you with the best tutor for your testing and scheduling situation.

Getting ready for the ACT is our most popular test preparation offering! The ACT is offered in September, October, December, February, April, June, and July. Preparation generally starts 8 to 10 weeks in advance of each test, although some students begin sooner or later depending on their individual needs. You must register for the ACT at their website.

Dr. Kleitz usually books three to four tests in advance (i.e. he will be full for the February ACT before the October ACT takes place), so please call right away to see about getting onto his schedule and/or his wait list. Our associate tutors tend to book one or two tests in advance, giving you a bit more flexibility in terms of their availability.

Although not as commonly taken in Missouri as the ACT, the SAT can also be a very good testing option for students and is part of the National Merit Scholarship competition. The SAT is offered in August, October, November, December, March, May, and June. You must register for the SAT at their website.

Given the recent changes to the SAT, we are handling each student’s SAT preparation on a case-by-case basis. We want to ensure that you receive the best possible exam preparation for your specific testing situation.

SAT Subject Tests

Some selective colleges ask applicants to provide SAT Subject Test scores. These can be extremely challenging because there tends to be a small pool of well-qualified applicants taking these tests. If you would like some help preparing for them, please contact us to see about being matched with an expert in the subject for which you are preparing.

SAT Subject Tests are offered in English Literature, History, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Spanish, Modern Hebrew, Italian, Latin, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

To find out more or register for these tests, please visit SAT's website.

Given in October of the junior year, the PSAT is the first step in qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship competition. Many students also take the PSAT in the sophomore year as a practice opportunity for the next year’s test.

If you think you may be a candidate for National Merit Semifinalist status, please call us right away to discuss setting up some preparation for the PSAT. Preparation usually takes place either in the summer between sophomore and junior year or early fall of junior year.

Our PSAT tutors fill quickly, so there is no such thing as contacting us too early for this exam. Although the exam does not take place until October of the junior year, our tutors’ schedules for summer and fall PSAT prep are quite often completely filled long before semester/trimester finals at the end of the sophomore year.
